What’s happening with our kids?
Yoga+ Mindfulness Tools to Bolster Resilience in Our Kids
Led by Crystal McCreary
This two-day immersion will introduce participants to embodied practices from the yoga and mindfulness traditions as tools to support well-being and skillful navigation of the unique social and emotional challenges faced by vulnerable youth in today’s increasingly anxiety-producing times. It offers an introduction to the neurobiology and impact of stress, race and systems-based trauma, and how to create yoga and mindfulness experiences that are relevant, accessible and empowering for children and adolescents. This immersion shines a light on the developmental needs and experiences of our kids as a means to increase compassion, deepen participants teaching practice, and expand their toolkit of resources for resilience that support youth facing overwhelming obstacles. This immersion is ideal for yoga teachers, parents, educators, medical professionals, clinicians, law enforcement, social workers, counselors, and anyone who loves kids.

– Understand the impact of stress, race, and systems based trauma on the developing brains and bodies of children and adolescents
– Cultivate a resource-rich toolkit for self-care and overall wellbeing
– Embody the spirit of yoga as a teaching and classroom management tool
– Foster community and build relationships with youth with diverse needs
– Learn a pedagogical framework for creating engaging yoga and mindfulness lessons and curriculum
