Introduction to Yoga Series
Are you ready to try yoga for the first time or return after a few weeks, months, or years away? Would you like a class that will truly start from the beginning?

Taking a new path deserves time and space. It is nice to know that there is a place where we can feel free and comfortable to…start. Introduction to yoga is a series of classes designed to help you through that phase when questions out-weigh answers or your passion to learn may exceed your experience. Here you can take your time to develop the type of relationship you wish to have with yoga and gain the confidence to maintain a practice that will help you find the balance, strength and health you are seeking. In this space you will find your challenges and solutions, along with a well of support ready to encourage and guide you as you step onto your path.

 

 

This 4-week series will prepare you with the essential knowledge for a safe and meaningful practice including the structure of a beginner level class, the names of poses, especially those of the Sun Salutations A + B, Yin and Restorative Yoga, and their proper alignment and modifications for your unique body. Learn the role of the breath for enhancing your endurance and stimulating the flow of your healing energy. Discover what yoga is to you and gain confidence through experiencing the benefits it has to offer.

 

 

Join Ona Hawk as she guides you through the mechanics and purpose of safe and comfortable poses, and equips you with a toolbox of useful knowledge for beginning your yoga.

To provide an individualized and hands on experience, space is limited to 12 participants per introductory series.

April Awakening {Challenge}: Begins Sunday April 2, 2018

Did you begin the year with intention, clarity, and the best laid plans to create powerful shifts and make this the year that you awakened to the depth + vastness of your life/potential… or something like that— {ha}!Only to have the day-to-day, real life, hustle and bustle, old stories and habits… or just the natural desire to stay in and keep warm during winter take over that intention?

We understand.

Awakening to the life we want and deserve doesn’t come from will alone. It doesn’t come from force, or from berating ourselves for our inability to “just make it happen.”

We believe it does come from intention, action, commitment, and being in supported+ accountable community. This needs to happen consistently.

The earth is awakening, now. The youth are awakening, now. Culturally, an awakening is called for and coming-

Or even more basic- We are personally awakening to a little bit of a “whew, wait, the year is almost one fourth of the way gone moment “ and we want to BE in the moment, consciously creating what we desire vs. look back and wonder where the time went.

Welcome to our April AWAKENING {challenge}

Do you have to come everyday? No. Awakening does require focus, intentionality and commitment. You’ll practice at least four times a week and so will we.

Do you have to be “good” at yoga? Nope. Just willing to try practices that might not be your jam. Everyone has a speed that feels natural to him or her. You may always be drawn to yin yoga. During our Awakening, we invite you to Flow and Be Still. Always want to “go hard” and move and move and move? We invite you to be still in restorative class or to meditate.

Awakening happens in unexpected places.

Do you have to like meditation? Nada. But study after study and real life stories continue to prove that meditation is GOOD for all of us and we recommend you practice it at least once a week with Meryl.
Do you have to show up for yourself? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. This may mean choosing your practice vs. sending one more email some days.
